What you should know about „Latvijas Auto”
- The Association was established on 23 March 1990;
- It is a non-governmental organization, which unites Latvian freight and passenger road transportation companies;
- Since 1992 "Latvijas Auto" is the full member of the International Road Transport Union (IRU);
- During operation of the Association the amount of its members has grown from 32 to more than 459 companies;
- Since establishment of “Latvijas Auto” and up to year 2011 more than 1. million 983 thousands TIR carnets have been issued to the Association members;
- The Latvijas Auto Training centre, where more than 3800 persons responsible for road transportation and drivers have received knowledge necessary for their professional works, works since 1998. The programs of courses are accredited by IRU Academy.

- Representation of interests of road carriers at the national and international level;
- Formation of positive environment of entrepreneurship, integration in the market of road transportation of EU;
- Rising of competitive ability of Latvian road carriers.

- Representation of interests of road carriers and their lobbying at the state institutions;
- Providing support and assistance to the “Latvijas Auto” members in Latvia and abroad;
- Informing the “Latvijas Auto” members on current events in the road transportation industry;
- Issuing of TIR carnets, granting of a a guarantee on payment of customs payments;
- TIR certification of transport vehicles;
- Training;
- Cooperation with road carriers and competent institutions;
- Cooperation with International Road Transport Union (IRU);
